Fjords Cruise
Thinking of going on a Norwegian Fjords Cruise next year, any experiences that tell me to do otherwise?

Only benders do this. Seriously, it's like the co-op for noofters, apparently.

You'll be fine though, just keep your arse well greased.

Did a 7 day Cruise from Copenhagen last year in May with Royal Caribbean, 4 stops Stavanger, Bergen, Alesund and Geiranger.

Late May is a good time to go, you still have the snow on the mountains but its melting and some spectacular waterfalls and scenery, weather can be a bit hit or miss though, luckily for us it was good at all stops, but when the clouds do come in, the fog is like pea soup.

I really enjoyed it, the highlight was Geiranger as you sail right up the fjord and they bring out this floating pontoon to disembark, Alesund was also a good place, we were there on Norwegian national day with all the locals in traditional costume and processions through the streets, had a couple of days in Copenhagen as well, which is worth a visit, all in all highly recommended.

Oh and Norwegian and Danish woman, cut above are the Nordics, some right stunners

Ray, I hope you know that a Fjords cruise is the height of Bourgeois decadence?

Most of the pretty ladies around the coast work as prostitutes. Or, as they are known locally, fjord escorts.

Went Febuary 2 years ago P&O from Southampton.Stopped at Bergan Alesrand, and Flam.Would highly recommend it. Flam was far the best place to stop. Thick snow about But sitting in a Hot Tub drinking to the sail away party. Couldn't understand why. When we docked @ Falm. There were typical Nordic logs cabins.Selling Ham Rolls and Local Brew Ale at £14 a pop!! While next door was a extremly LARGE Whack off P&O Ship. Which was all inclusive!!

Did all the fjords, plus Bergen, Tromso, Trondheim, Noord Kaap and even Svalbard / Spitsbergen, on top of that we went as far as the ice started not far from the north pole, this was in the summer, so we watched the sun go down and then come up again, no darkness at all

Re: Fjords Cruise
The rules for cruises:-

1. If you're under 60, you shouldn't be going on one

2. If you attract werido's, don't go. They latch on to you and on a ship there are very few places to escape to

3. If you're anti-social, don't go. Same reason as 2, you get some chatty cunt latch on to you and whatever bollocks they spout, you have to pretend you're interested, with nowhere to escape to

Other than that, enjoy!

Re: Fjords Cruise
Do one that takes in Oslo so that when they do a little stop off, you can go and see Vigeland Park.

That place is the jewel of Scandinavia.
